Fran O'Haren of Clifton Heights, PA, passed away peacefully December 11, 2024, she was 83. Fran was the beloved daughter of the late Grace (nee Ferguson) and Francis "Bud" O'Haren, loving sister of Els O'Haren and the late Mary (nee O'Haren) Wolke. Cherished aunt of Cathy (Wolke) Pesicka, and her husband Dave Pesicka, Grace, Isaac and Emma and Brian Wolke (Zach), Beloved by her cousins, Ginny (nee Rowland) Priore, Nora (nee Rowland) McGrath, Pinky (Holland) Marshall and her husband Al Marshall, Mickey Holland and Davey Holland and his wife Cheryl.
Fran was a lifetime educator, both inside a classroom and out. She taught for 51 years, 50 of them in 2nd grade and a year in 4th grade. Fran especially loved teaching little ones about the sacraments of Reconciliation and First Communion. She taught in St. John the Apostle School in Hialeah, Fl and at Holy Cross School in Springfield. Fran infused her classroom with a love of learning. She not only taught the curriculum, but she inspired her children to love God and to live Good, Christian lives. To know Fran was to be uplifted, encouraged and struck by her sense of humor. Her love of fun was seen in making sure she had a costume for every occasion. She loved dressing up to bring a smile to the faces of every child, particularly Danny Hammond. She appeared at his birthday party every year dressed as a clown with balloons. Fran loved sports and coached volleyball, basketball and track teams. Whether you knew her as Miss O'Haren, coach or Fran, to know her was one of life's greatest lessons. She will be missed. God Speed, Good and faithful servant. Rest in Peace.
Relatives, friends and students of Miss O'Haren are invited to her viewing Thursday, December 19, 2024, 9:30 am, Holy Cross Church, 652 E.
