Eminda M. "Mindy" (DiRenzo) Colameco, 97, of Springfield, PA passed away peacefully on June 11, 2026.
Mindy was the daughter of the late Michael and Nancy (Corvino) DiRenzo and was born in the section of West Philadelphia where many people from Italy made their homes. St. Danatos parish was the cultural center and Mindy along with her four siblings attendant elementary school there. Mindy graduated from West Catholic High School for Girls and entered the workforce. She soon married Augustine (Augie) Colameco, a World War II veteran and an electrician. For a few years they lived in Darby PA but in 1956 they purchased a house in a new development called Swarthmorewood in Ridley Township. Mindy eventually took a job as a salesclerk at Strawbridge and Clothier in Springfield. In 1979, Augie and Mindy purchased a house in Cape May N.J. They loved spending time at the shore during the summers. In 1999 they sold both houses and purchased a townhouse in a new complex called Golf View Estates in Springfield. After Augie’s death in 2004, Mindy became a volunteer at Springfield Hospital which she did for many years.
Mindy was at her happiest when she was cooking Italian food and sharing it with her family and friends. If you were going to her house for a meal it was going to be pasta and it was going to be homemade. And you probably ate more than you should have. Augie and Mindy had many friends, and they loved to socialize. They loved the days they spent at Cape May.
Mindy is survived by one brother, Michael. Her two sisters Phylis and Olga as well as her brother Fred are deceased. Augie and Mindy had three children, Robert, Joann and Jeffrey. They have three grandchildren, Kate (Moran), Daniel and Christopher. They have seven great grandchildren, Maddie, Ryan and Emma Moran, Gus and Ruby Colameco and Mikey and Jimmy Colameco.
Relatives and friends are invited to her Visitation Thursday, June 18, 2026 9:30am St. Kevin Church, 200 W. Sproul Rd. Springfield, PA 19064 and to her Funeral Mass 10:30am in the Church. Int. SS.
