Elizabeth Uhler, a beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away peacefully at the age of 89 on May 10, 2026, in Lansdale, PA.
Born Ethel Elizabeth Brackett in Evansville, IN, she was the daughter of the late Laughlin Brackett and Helen Halter. Elizabeth was a strong and independent woman who lived life on her own terms, never sacrificing her happiness or sense of self to fit society’s expectations. She pursued a life full of purpose, meaning, and deep connection to those she loved.
In 1956, she joined the United States Air Force and graduated from the 3743rd WAF (Women in the Air Force) Training Squadron at Lackland Air Force Base in TX. After raising five children, she went on to build a successful career in accounting — another reflection of her determination and resilience.
Elizabeth loved life, and she especially loved spending time with her family, who affectionately knew her by many nicknames: Gram(s), Graham Cracker, Gigi, Liz and Queen Elizabeth. She was known for her quick banter, never hesitating to poke fun at herself, and a day with her always ended in laughter.
A lifelong fan of the Philadelphia Phillies, she was happiest when gathered with family watching a game, sometimes with a dirty martini in hand. She loved cooking for those she cared about and was especially famous for her pies, which became a cherished tradition among her family. She was also a devout Christian whose faith remained a guiding force throughout her life, and she deeply loved attending Mass.
Elizabeth is survived by her daughter, Jolene Blong (Thomas); son-in-law, Jay Behe; daughter-in-law, Tammy Wampole; grandchildren: Kimberly, Jeremy, Dana, Josh, Jynell, David, Michelle, Kelsey, Samantha, Daile, Travis, Justin, Rachelle, Shannon and Erin; and many loving great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her daughters, Barbara Behe (Jay), Donna Wampole, and Virginia “Ginny” Wampole; and her son, Brian Wampole (Tammy).
“As a well-spent day brings happy sleep, so a life well used brings happy death.”
Relatives and friends are invited to her Visitation on Wednesday, May 20, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at St. George Church, 22 E.
