Elizabeth M. Giberson

Elizabeth ‘Betty’ M. Giberson, 87, of Deptford, NJ, passed away on January 6, 2022. She was born in Philadelphia, PA and was the daughter of the late Joseph W. Droxler and Marie C. Burchill. Although only 4 feet 9 inches tall, Betty had enough love, kindness, and compassion to fill a giant. She selflessly left school at the age of 16 to help raise her 6 younger siblings. Working at the Edwards shoe factory to help pay family expenses, she provided shoes for her siblings and food for their table. Later in life, Betty spent many years selling Avon, which she truly treasured. But the most important treasures in Betty’s life were her family and she was most often seen with a disposable camera in her hand so she could capture every wonderful moment and memory. She always knew just how to show her family love, many times with a carefully chosen card lovingly adorned with stickers.

Living in the Nancy Elkins complex in Deptford, N.J., Betty spent the last 23 years surrounded by her friends and enjoying numerous activities, such as monthly luncheons, daily walks, and puzzles in the social room after dinner.

Betty was a loving mother to her daughter, the late Elizabeth M. Beatty and a cherished grandmother to Jennifer Rosenbaum and her partner Mike, Kathy Veith and her partner George and Kelly Trowbridge and her husband Dennis. She was also a proud Great Grandmother to Lukas, Hannah, Summer, Ashleigh, Amber, Kristen, and Thomas (TJ). Betty is survived by her siblings Barbara Clement, Patricia Reif, Kathleen Kielbowicz, Edward Droxler and his wife Mary, Joseph Droxler and his wife Theresa, and three generations of nieces and nephews. Betty was predeceased by her parents, her brothers Robert and Richard Droxler, and her Daughter Elizabeth, who will be joined with her in burial.
