Eleanor R. (Nolan) Hoban

Eleanor R. (Nolan) Hoban, 87 of Springfield, PA 19064 passed away November 5, 2021. Born September 30, 1934, the daughter of the late Anna L. (Larkin) and Charles A. Nolan. Eleanor was a graduate of Little Flower High School class of '52. She earned degrees in Nursing and Education from Gwynedd Mercy School of Nursing and Villanova University. Eleanor was an active member of Holy Cross Parish since 1978. She was a Cantor, Lector, Extraordinary Minister and volunteered for many parish functions. Eleanor was previously a member of the Sisters of Mercy from 1952 to 1969, during this time she taught elementary school music and worked in many Mercy Hospitals. She went on to teach Nursing at Lankenau Hospital for 23 years. She then continued working as Staff Development Coordinator and taught PA State classes for Nurses Aids, at the previous Dowden Nursing Home, until her retirement in 1999. Eleanor enjoyed music, crafts, gardening, the Jersey shore and especially her family and friends.   

Eleanor was the beloved wife of the late Charles F. Hoban, III who died in 1998. She was also predeceased by her loving sister Anne (Worthington) Scott in 2009. She is survived by her nieces and nephews.
