Edd J. Culbertson, III

Edd J. Culbertson, 66, of Springfield, PA passed away peacefully on Tuesday November 12, 2024.

Edd was born in Philadelphia and raised in Upper Darby. He graduated from Upper Darby high school in 1976 and Penn State University in 1980. He loved baseball and played throughout his high school and college days.

Edd’s gift of communication and ability to listen to others led him to a successful 44-year career in sales. He was a kind, compassionate soul who adored his family and friends. He enjoyed walking in the park and at the Navy Yard. He loved cooking, reading, travel, the Three Stooges and martini’s. He was an avid Philly sports fan and often the loudest voice in the room.

Edd was the eternal optimist. He lived his life with empathy towards others, joyful in the simple pleasures of life, courageous and resilient in every challenge he faced. Edd was our hero and will be forever in our hearts.

Edd is survived by his beloved ‘angel’ wife, Carolyn Mundy; his son Zachary Culbertson, and his mother Patricia Culbertson. He was preceded in death by his father, Edward Culbertson. Although Edd was an only child, his brother and sister in-laws became his brothers and sisters and for that he felt blessed. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are invited to his Visitation and Memorial Service on Friday, November 22 at the Chapel of Four Chaplains, 1201 Constitution Avenue, The Navy Yard, Philadelphia, PA 19112. Visitation 9:30 - 10 am, service immediately following at 10am. Burial SS. Peter and Paul Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the American Cancer Society.
