Donald J. “Joe” Riccio

Donald J. "Joe” Riccio, 95, of Springfield, PA passed away peacefully on September 14, 2024.

Joe was the son of the late Antonio and Immacolata (Caruso) Riccio and was born in Philadelphia, PA. He attended West Catholic High School, but graduated from Lincoln High School while attending at night so he could work full-time to help support his family.  He enlisted in the Army/Air Corps when he was 17 years old and was stationed in the Philippines. He worked as a procurement specialist for Westinghouse in Lester, PA for the majority of his career. He attended Widener University night school while working at Westinghouse to attain his Bachelor's degree.  He was a member of Holy Cross Parish for 65 years where he was involved in Eucharist Adoration. He also made rosaries in his free time and donated them to people in need.  He enjoyed landscaping, watching the Phillies, reading, going to the beach and his home in Stone Harbor, spending time with his beloved late wife Peggy, his children, grandchildren and great granddaughter. He fulfilled his lifelong dream of going to Italy several times and visiting his parent's hometowns. 

Beloved husband of the late Margaret M. "Peggy" (Tumolo) Riccio; Loving Father of Joseph, John (Christine), Maria and Robert Riccio; Cherished Grandfather of Alison and Ryan and great grandfather to Raelyn. Brother to Nicholas (Patricia), and the late Ernest, Eugene, Gloria and Anthony. He is also survived by many nephews and nieces.

Relatives and friends are invited to his Viewing Wednesday, September 18, 2024 9:30am Holy Cross Church, 651 E. Springfield Rd., Springfield, PA 19064 and to his Funeral Mass 10:30am in the Church. Int. SS. Peter & Paul Cemetery.
