Dominick Barrett

Dominick Barrett, 95, of Philadelphia passed away peacefully at home on November 28, 2021.

Dominick was the son of the late Joseph Barrett and Jennie Cusano Barrett and was born in Philadelphia in 1926. At the age of 18, he was enlisted in the 4th Division of the Marine Corps at the height of World War II, trained at Quantico, Virginia, and Camp Lejune, North Carolina, and served our country in Okinawa, Japan. He returned from war, graduated from the Philadelphia Institute of Technology, and continued on to a career of carpentry, masonry, electrical and plumbing work, mechanical work, and general contracting. Noted positions included the chief engineer of the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts, and chief sexton of the Cathedral Church of the Savior, now the Philadelphia Episcopal Cathedral. He enjoyed cooking and watching cooking shows.

Beloved husband of Mary Gamble Barrett; Father to Patricia Rudnick, Anna Marie Muglie, Donald Barrett, Frederick Barrett, James Barrett, and Andrew Barrett; Cherished Grandfather to ten Grandchildren and seven Great Grandchildren. Survived by Mary Gamble Barrett and sister Ethel Jeanette Germroth. He is predeceased by his parents Joseph and Jennie, his Brothers Joseph, Johnny, and Sonny, Sister Dolly, and cousin Cassie Panko. He is also survived by many nephews, nieces, cousins and more.
