On September 3rd, Dolores Dinyon, 92 of Lincoln University died peacefully at home with family and earned her angel wings. A cherished wife, mom, grandmom, and great-grandmom, she had a creative and caring heart and soul. Whether decorating her home, cooking for extended family and friends during her famous Christmas Eve open houses, or creating a mini Longwood Gardens in her own yard, her generous spirit welcomed those in need of a sense of ’family’ and ‘home’.
Dolores grew up in Leesburg and attended Millville High School with lifelong friends that she treasured. After high school she married Allan and they shared 64 years of marriage and 6 children. She became an accomplished executive secretary at Airwork, Fiber Metal and Arthur Anderson. Her children all developed strong work ethics from her example.
Once retired, she was able to focus on her passion for art as she studied and learned to create beautiful watercolors, oils and pastels. She spent time every day at her art table painting or crafting. She was known for her hand made cards and she generously gifted many paintings and cards to anyone who admired them, friends or strangers.
Dolores was a ‘giver’, and many of the doctors, nurses, and aids who met her during her final days commented on her sweetness and gratitude, and how much she loved her family.
She will be forever missed by everyone whose lives she touched.
Dolores was preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, (Allan), and her son, Robert Dinyon. She leaves behind her children, daughter Dolores Dinyon (Roc LaPorte), Debra Renza (Richard), Diana Marini (Steven), Joseph Dinyon (Michele), and Denise Dinyon. She will also be remembered and celebrated by her 6 grandchildren; Stefani Marini (Patrick Lafferty), Kelly Benigno (Dominick), Michael Hultz (Laura), Sara Sergovic (Shawn), Steven Marini, and Ryan Renza, as well as 5 great-grandchildren.
Relatives and friends are invited to her Viewing, Tuesday September 10, 2024 11:00AM O'Leary Funeral Home 640 E. Springfield Road Springfield, PA 19064 and to her Funeral Service 12:00PM in the Funeral Home. Int. SS Peter & Paul Cemetery.
