David Whelan, a life long resident of South Philadelphia, suddenly passed away February 27, 2021.
David was born July 21,1966 to Mary and the late Eugene Whelan in Philadelphia. He was a graduate of Bensalem High School and went on to work as DJ for many years in the city of Philadelphia. Throughout his life, David touched many people’s lives in both his family and the many friends he made. David was an avid animal lover and cared deeply for the many he had over the years. His partner, Daniel Prado, had passed on prior to him and now they will be reunited again. David had many nieces and nephews that he loved with all of his heart and made each of them feel special to him. He is a person who loved with all of his heart and saw the beauty in everything.
He is survived by his mother, Mary Whelan. His brothers, Eugene Whelan, John Whelan, Stephen Whelan, and William Whelan. His sisters, Mary May, Eileen Whelan, and Louisa Romanelli. Also he is also survived by his many nieces, nephews, and great nieces/nephews.
