Daniel J. Toy, Jr. (“Danny”), 82, of Glen Mills, formerly of Springfield, entered into eternal life on March 20, 2026. He was born in Philadelphia to the late Daniel and Dorothy (McQuilkin) Toy.
Danny retired after 35 years from General Electric, where he worked as a machinist and welder. Following his retirement, he pursued his dream of serving the Church as a sacristan. He worked for several years at Holy Cross Church and then faithfully served for 20 years at St. Andrew the Apostle Church in Drexel Hill, retiring at the age of 80.
Danny enjoyed watching classic films as well as newer releases and was always eager to share his recommendations. He also enjoyed trips to the casino, but most of all, he loved to travel. For the past eight years, he made his home at Fox Hill Farm, where he was actively involved in many activities and formed countless special friendships.
Danny proudly served his country in the United States Army and was stationed in Korea during the Vietnam War.
He was predeceased by his parents and his brother, Jack Toy.
Danny is survived by his loving wife, Christine (Olinger); his three sons, Dan (Jen), Brian, and Terrance; his cherished grandchildren, Kevin, Sean, Aidan, and Luca; his in-laws; many nieces and nephews; and his beloved “fur baby,” Rudy.
Relatives and friends are invited to his Viewing on Wednesday, April 1, 2026 from 9:30 to 11:30 AM at St. Thomas the Apostle Church, 430 Valleybrook Road Glen Mills, PA 19342, followed by his Mass of Christian Burial at 11:30 AM. Interment will take place at St. Thomas the Apostle Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Holy Cross Food Pantry, 651 E. Springfield Road, Springfield, PA 19064.
