Daniel J. Murphy, 75, of Clifton Heights, PA passed away peacefully on July 14, 2020 surrounded by his family. Dan was the son of the late Francis and Katherine (Bilinsky) Murphy. He was a member of Holy Cross Parish for 73 years and attended Holy Cross grade school. He was a graduate of Monsignor Bonner and part of the 1964 Football team that won the city title. Dan served in the US Army from 1965-1967. He was stationed at the Ramstein Airbase in Germany, working on Classified Avionics. While stationed there he was able to travel and see many of Germany's towns and villages. After his service he worked as a computer programmer at the Pennsylvania Rail Road and later Conrail until his retirement. He had a great interest in Railroad History, collecting model trains and being "Santa Clause" to his family. Most importantly, Dan provided loving care for his late father, mother and brother Bob.
Dan is survived by his brother Tom, sister-in-law Margie, 6 nieces, 1 nephew and 22 grand nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are invited to his Visitation Saturday, July 18, 2020 9:30am, Holy Cross Church, 651 E. Springfield Rd. Springfield, PA 19064 and to his Funeral Mass 10:30am in the Church. Burial SS. Peter & Paul Cemetery. Contributions in Dan's name can be made to the Communities of Don Guanella and Divine Providence, 686 Old Marple Rd. Springfield, PA 19064.
