Catherine B. (Fadgen) Monaghan

Cathy B. Monaghan , 77 years old of Folsom,  Pennsylvania passed away peacefully on October 3, 2025.

Cathy was the daughter of the late Edward and Catherine Fadgen and was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. She was the oldest of five children & loved her family very much. She was a graduate of West Catholic Girls  High School in 1965. At the age of 20 she met the love of her life Patrick B. Monaghan. They married 1/24/1970 and from there started to build their love story…Having three of the best children you could ask for, making many happy and beautiful memories together. There were many good and bad times to come, but she knew as long as the five of them were together, they could conquer them all! 

Their dream home was purchased in 1986 and WOW the stories that house could tell! Cathy loved being a part of Saint Madeleine‘s Parish and no matter what life through at her , her faith in God never wavered. She enjoyed reading and her “alone“ time but also loved a good family party and spending time with her sorority sisters. She was very proud of her Irish heritage and let everyone know she was “proud to be Irish“.  Her favorite holiday was Christmas and she always made sure the house was decorated to the nines . She spent many hours in “Santa’s workshop” making sure everyone had the perfect gift to open during the holiday season.

She embraced being a Wife, Mom , Grandmother, Daughter, Sister, Aunt, Cousin, and Friend to many and will be forever loved and surely missed. See you on the other side Mom, you can finally be at peace …we’ll take it from here… Until we meet again  ❤️

Beloved wife of the late Patrick B. Monaghan;  Loving Mother to Carolyn Monaghan (Robert), Jeanne Monaghan Kilkenny (Mike) and Patrick S. Monaghan (Becky); Cherished Grandmother to 6 beautiful grandchildren ( Carly, Owen, Samantha, Kaylee, Patrick Junior, and Liam). She is survived by her siblings, Deborah Fadgen and Peggy Ann Fadgen. She is pre-deceased by her Loving Husband: Pat Father: Edward,  Mother: Catherine, Brother: Eddie, Sister: Mary Therese & her beautiful, brave Grandson Patrick Jr. 

Relatives and friends are invited to her Visitation Thursday, October 9, 2025 9:00am St. Madeline Church, 110 Park St.. Ridley Park, PA 19078 and to her Funeral Mass 10:30am in the Church. Int. SS. Peter & Paul Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, please make a donation in our Mom‘s name to the Alzheimer’s Association in hopes that one day there will be some sort of a cure for this horrible disease.
