Carol Anne (Rixon) Newmiller

Carol Anne Newmiller, 78, of Havertown, PA passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on October 10, 2021.  Born in Chester and raised in West Philadelphia, Carol attended St. Frances De Sales grade school graduating in 1957, before moving to Upper Darby where she shared her family home with her three sisters, subsequently graduating from Archbishop Prendergast Class of 1961.

Carol married at a young age to Bill Newmiller and were the parents of five children, residing in Drexel Hill until her children were grown, and eventually moved to Havertown.

Always with camera in hand, Carol earned the nickname Kodak Carol as she captured countless priceless memories through the years.  Carol’s most cherished moments were spent with her family and friends.  

Carol’s personality was a characterization of her “take charge” attitude being in control of each and every situation that had arisen, dubbing her with the nickname ‘Sarge’.

Carol loved her telecommunications career at MainLine Health from where she retired after 20 years of service.  

Carol enjoyed dancing, music, crossword puzzles, scratch-offs, game shows, the casino, shopping and watching Hallmark movies. She looked forward to her Tuesday dinner and movie date night with her nephew Danny. Carol’s favorite role was “Nana” to her 12 grandchildren. They were her whole world.

Carol is survived by her children: Billy, David (Krista), Kevin, Karen (Anthony) Brigidi, Brian (Jill) and Loretta Newmiller.  Grandchildren Kody, Ariana, Will, Alyssa, Anthony, Sammi, Noah, Nick, Ben, Brianna, Emily and Jon.  Sisters Barbara Arrison (Rich), Jackie Leitstein (Mark), Terry Ruane (Jimmie).  Brother in law Charlie Newmiller (Jackie).  Nieces and nephews, Chris, Danny, Jami, Matthew, Stacy, Lisa, Tracy, Michele and Eddie.

Relatives and Friends are invited to her Viewing, Thursday, October 14, 2021, 6pm O’Leary Funeral Home, 640 E. Springfield Rd. Springfield, PA 19064 and Friday October 15, 9am in the funeral home.
