Carol A. (Gantz) Lynde, 77, of Morton, PA, passed away peacefully on April 29, 2025 with her daughter by her side.
Born on February 25, 1948, Carol was the daughter of the late Robert and Ada (Raibley) Gantz. She grew up in Norwood, PA and graduated from Archbishop Prendergast High School in Drexel Hill, PA. After graduation, Carol entered the work force as a secretary at First Pennsylvania Bank in Philadelphia for 10 years until the birth of her daughter. As her daughter grew, Carol went back to work at Watch Me Grow Learning Center as a teacher's assistant in the Overbrook Park section of West Philadelphia. Then, as a determined single Mother, she set on a mission to do anything for her little girl.
Carol enjoyed spending time with her family, friends, and neighbors. She loved all animals, the color blue, Elvis, and Doo Wop music. It was easy for Carol to strike up a conversation with a complete stranger. She loved to tell stories of her family as she walked around the neighborhood and shopped at her favorite stores. Carol was full of love, life, and spunk. Her infectious laugh, bright blue eyes, and warm welcoming smile made everyone feel comfortable. There was never anything she wouldn't do to help others.
She was a devoted Mother to Nicole Smith and son-in-law Greg Smith; Cherished Grandmother to Gregory, Abigail, and Ryan Smith. Also survived by her brother Robert J. Gantz. She is predeceased by her sister-in-law Betty J. (Carter) Gantz, and her Uncle and Aunt Jim and Peg (Raibley) Biessel. She is also survived by many nephews, nieces, cousins, neighbors, and friends.
Relatives and friends are invited to her Visitation Friday, May 16, 2025 10 am at St. Matthew Lutheran Church, 400 Lynbrooke Rd. Springfield, PA 19064. Her Funeral Service will begin at 11 am in the church sanctuary.
In lieu of flowers contributions can be made in her memory to the St. Matthew Lutheran Youth Group, 400 Lynbrooke Rd, Springfield, PA 19064.
