Carmen Laino Obituary

Carmen “Nooch” Laino passed away peacefully just before midnight January 19, 2021. He was 92. Born and raised in South Philadelphia along with his seven siblings. After service in the Marine Corp during WWII and Korea he returned home to marry Gloria “Chachi” Maeso and settled in Springfield. He owned and operated Carmens Deli on Woodland Ave for many years serving the community his famous hoagies and prepared foods. Carmen enjoyed many friends and was in his element with a glass of wine telling a story. Along with travel in his younger years, music was his greatest pleasure. He seemed happiest when listening to Nat King Cole and Frank Sinatra and took enormous pleasure in singing whenever he could. He was active in his parish St. Kevin and in later years at St. Francis of Assisi. He was also very active in the Marine Corp League Upper Darby Detachment, where had many friends. His presence in our lives will be missed. 

He is predeceased by his wife Gloria and daughter Patricia. Brothers; James, Frank, Salvatore and Phillip. Sisters; Carmela Feola and Frances.  

He is survived by his daughters; Maria Tomlinson, Linda, Anita Downs and son Michael. Carmen is also survived by his sister Rita Lanosco, along with many grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces , nephews and extended family members.
