Carmella (Uva) O'Neill

Carmella O'Neill, 95, of Wilmington, DE passed away peacefully on June 2, 2026. The daughter of the late Raphael and Marguerite Uva, she was born on July 29, 1930 in Philadelphia, PA, and raised in her younger years on a farm in Luzerne County, PA before moving in her teen years to West Philadelphia. She worked at Pioneer Belt Company in Darby, PA before becoming a wife and mother. A devoted Catholic, Carmella was a member of Our Lady of Fatima Parish in Secane, PA for over 60 years. She loved cooking and baking her Italian and Irish specialties for friends and family, and spending summers in Bethany, DE and Ocean City, MD enjoying the sunsets and ocean breezes.

Carmella is survived by her beloved husband of 70 years, Hugh J. O'Neill, Jr.; her loving daughter Ann Webb (Tom); her cherished grandchildren Dennis (Erin), Maria, Christina (Steve), and Desirae (Shawn); and her treasured great-grandchildren Desmond, Arden, Stella, Colette, Everly, Owen, and Serenity. She is predeceased by her parents Raphael and Marguerite Uva, and her siblings and their spouses: Jerry (Josephine), Rosie (Joe), Mario (Elsa), Freddie (Vera), Connie (Jack), Lucille (Charlie), Susie, and Nicholas (Pat). She is also survived by many special nephews and nieces, and dedicated caregivers. 

Relatives and friends are invited to her Viewing on Tuesday, June 9, 2026, 9:30am at Our Lady of Fatima Church, 1 Fatima Dr. Secane, PA 19018 and to her Funeral Mass 10:30am in the Church. Interment SS. Peter & Paul Cemetery.
