Bridget Elizabeth “Betty” Devinney, 91, of Morton, PA, passed away peacefully on May 30, 2026.
Born in January 1935, Betty was raised in Drexel Hill, PA, by her late parents, Thomas and Ann McDevitt (née McHugh). She was a proud graduate of Notre Dame High School in Moylan.
Following high school, Betty married her beloved husband, the late William J. Devinney. Together they settled in Morton, where they raised their ten children and built a loving home filled with family that continued to grow through the years.
Betty was a faithful member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Parish for more than 60 years. She also enjoyed a long and successful career as a trusted realtor with Century 21/Calderone Brothers for over 35 years.
Betty found joy in spending time with her family, relaxing on the beaches of South Jersey, playing tennis, and attending social gatherings—often alongside her late beloved sister and “partner in crime,” Marie.
Known for her infectious laughter and kind spirit, Betty was an exceptional listener and a trusted confidant to many. Long phone calls and even longer visits around her basement bar were cherished traditions among family and friends.
Family was at the center of Betty’s life. She never missed a birthday or celebration and took great joy in hosting beloved traditions such as “Devinney Week” on the shores of North Wildwood and Christmas Bowling.
Betty was a devoted wife, a loving mother, a loyal sister, a cherished grandmother, a proud great-grandmother, and a dear friend to many. She was predeceased by her husband, William J. Devinney; her son, Daniel Devinney; her sisters, Rose McWilliams and Marie Savinese; and her brothers, Thomas McDevitt and James McDevitt.
She is survived by her children: William Devinney (Jeanie) of Morton; Maryanne Cooke (John) of Morton; Thomas Devinney (Linda) of West Chester; Robert Devinney (Trish) of Broomall; Kathy Miller (Matt) of Aston; Diane Casey (Mike) of Woolwich, NJ; Betty Dinyon (Bob) of Morton; James Devinney (Michele) of Morton; and Linda Graney (Steve) of Morton.
Betty is also survived by 30 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren as well as her sisters, Bernadette McLean (Thomas) and Mary Ann (Nancy) O’Donaghue, Ph.D. (Joseph).
Relatives and friends are invited to her Viewing Thursday, June 4 at 10:00 AM at Our Lady of Perpetual Help, 2130 Franklin Ave. Morton, PA 19070 and to her Funeral Mass 11:30am in the Church. Burial SS. Peter & Paul Cemetery. The Devinney Family invites everyone to celebrate Betty’s life by wearing bright colors.
