Bernadette “Bonnie” M. George age 81 of Morton Pennsylvania passed away peacefully on May 19, 2026.
Bernadette was the daughter of the late Alexander and Ida George and was born in Philadelphia. She graduated from Notre Dame high school, and both West Chester and Temple Universities. Bernadette was a devout Catholic and talented educator, with a kind heart and generous spirit. She received the Milken Educator award in 1994 while serving as Principal at Delcroft Elementary where she implemented before and after school childcare and a breakfast program long before these programs became the norm. She also helped institute academic reforms such as the Botel Teaching /Assessment Project.
In her spare time, Bernadette loved travel and relaxing at the beach in Sea Isle City. After graduating college she travelled around the U.S. in a pop-up camper and ultimately visited 6 continents including an adventurous cruise to Antartica.
Beloved sister to Alexis Hemingway, Roberta and Alexander (Karen) George and cherished Aunt to Allison (Sean) Capps, Austin (Jordan) George, Alivia (Ryan) Shaw and Aiden George.
Relatives and friends are invited to her Viewing Tuesday, May 26, 2026 10am Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church, 2130 Franklin Ave. Morton, PA 19070 and to her Funeral Mass 11:00am in the Church. Int. SS. Peter & Paul Cemetery.
