Barbara Anne Lee, 72 years young, born on May 24, 1952, passed away peacefully with her children by her side on August 31, 2024. She was a loving daughter, mother, Nana, sister, niece, aunt, cousin, and friend. Her caring spirit will be missed immensely.
Barbara grew up in West Philadelphia as the youngest of five children. She attended West Catholic High School, where she formed many lifelong friendships. She later married John Snyder of Upper Darby and moved to Delaware County, where her large extended family would spread their roots. Barbara’s children, John, Matthew, and Barbara-Lee, were her world. She made friends—many of whom she considered family—while residing in Clifton Heights, Havertown, Chester Heights, and West Chester. She returned to Clifton Heights, where she lived for the remaining years of her life. Barbara proudly worked at Weichert Realtors in Chadds Ford for 27 years. She enjoyed working with the Bishop Shanahan chorus department on many high school musicals long after her children had graduated. She knew someone everywhere she went, and there was no such thing as a “quick stop” because she would talk and spend time with everyone she could. Relationships mattered most to her. Her smile and laughter were imprinted on all who loved her.
If you knew Barbara, you likely heard many stories about her beloved grandchildren. Kayla, Jackson, Abby, Ellie, Ben, Emma, and Sophia were the lights of her life. She spent most of her time attending sporting events, school events, recitals, sleepovers, family dinners, and beach trips (with family and friends). Although it was not long enough, her grandchildren cherished every moment spent with their Nana.
Barbara was preceded in death by her parents, Catherine and Peter Lee, as well as her siblings Gerry, Jim, Anne, and Catherine. She is survived by her sons John (Sandy) and Matthew (Tricia) Snyder, her daughter Barbara-Lee Catania (Jim), her grandchildren, nieces and nephews, and a large extended family that she loved deeply.
Relatives and friends are invited to her Visitation 9:00am September 14, 2024, Holy Cross Church, 651 E. Springfield Rd, Springfield, PA 19064 and to her Funeral Mass 10:30am in the Church Int. Private.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Lankenau Medical Center’s Women’s Heart Initiative and Lankenau NICU (where her youngest grandchildren began their journey in life).
