Bahir Browsh, 76, of Philadelphia, PA, and Longport, NJ, passed away suddenly on September 7, 2021.
Bahir, affectionately known as Ba or The Ba Man, was born and raised in Philadelphia by (the late) Azmi and Naxhije Browsh. He graduated from Mastbaum High School then enlisted in the Air Force and was stationed in Alabama and Alaska from 1963-1967. After his discharge, he earned a degree in electrical engineering from Temple University. In his early career, he worked as Vice President of Chemical Bank before 24 years with TWA, including positions as Manager of Reservations, Director of Customer Service Programs, Director of Marketing Planning & Support, Director of Getaway Sales & Services, and Vice President of Operations. He then embarked on endeavors with TWA subsidiaries, as the first president of the Travel Channel then as President and CEO of World Marketing Services, Travel Bargains, and 1-800-AIRFARE. He most recently co-founded the online travel planning website Best Trip Choices.
Bahir found new friends wherever he went, always ready with a joke or a generous offer and making everyone he met feel like the most important person in the world. He could fix anything and was constantly tinkering with a house project or his various hobbies and collections. He loved nothing more than a horror movie, an impromptu nap, and a walk on the beach with his faithful companion, Whiskey. Above all, he was devoted to his family and immensely proud of his children, Alexis and Jared, whom he raised with his beloved wife Karyn until her death in 1998.
He is survived by his children Alexis and Jared; siblings Mini, Betty, Gani, Perri, and Xhenet; and many nephews, nieces, cousins, and cherished friends. He is predeceased by his wife, Karyn; his parents; and his sisters Dolores and Nafije.
Relatives and friends are invited to his Viewing Tuesday, September 14, 2021 10am, O’Leary Funeral Home, 640 E. Springfield Rd., Springfield, PA 19064 and to his Funeral Service 12pm in the Funeral Home. Interment will be held Oakland Cemetery at a later date.
