Antoinette M. Pitis, 94, of Wallingford, PA, passed away peacefully at home on August 11, 2025.
Antoinette was born to the late Michael and Maria Guarino in January 1931 in Philadelphia, PA. Known as "Toni" to her friends, Antoinette grew up in South Philly and graduated from South Philadelphia High School and Temple University. She married her beloved husband, Philip D. Pitis, in 1953, and became a long-time resident of Folsom, PA, before moving to Plush Mills Senior Living Retirement Community in Wallingford. As an English and remedial reading teacher at Bartram High School in Southwest Philadelphia, she enjoyed focusing on and celebrating even small advancements, having a powerful impact on students' learning journeys.
Antoinette was an active member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Parish for many years. She enjoyed being with family, traveling, and cooking. She also was an avid Eagles fan and, as a season ticket holder, attended many Eagles games with her husband and friends.
Antoinette is predeceased by her husband, parents, and two brothers, Angelo Guarino and Joseph Guarino. She was the loving mother to Philip M. Pitis (Lonni); cherished grandmother to Mark, Scott, and Tyler; and great-grandmother to Lucas. She is also survived by many nephews and nieces; her long-time friend and sister-in-law, Clorinda; and many more family and friends.
Relatives and friends are invited to her Visitation on Thursday, August 21, 2025, 10AM, at St. Kevin Church, 200 W. Sproul Rd., Springfield, PA19064, followed by her Funeral Mass at 11AM in the Church. Int. SS. Peter & Paul Cemetery.
