Anna M. (Ballinger) Knorr

Anna Marie (nee Ballinger) Knorr, 86 passed away peacefully on Friday, July 3, 2020. She was born May 19, 1934 to the late John and Anna (Bockius) Ballinger. She was raised in Southwest Philadelphia. Anna was a graduate of John Bartram High School and after graduation started working as a Secretary at Fidelity Mutual in Philadelphia, PA. In February 1957, she married George J. Knorr, who was her husband until his untimely death in June 1978. She lived in the house that George bought for her in Drexel Hill for 50 years, recently moving to Highgate at Paoli Point.

She loved to sew, crochet and work on crafts. Anna enjoyed all types of crafts and was always attending different craft shows over the years for ideas. She headed the craft group at St. Stephens Episcopal Church for 17 years, sharing her ideas and making friends. She enjoyed trips down the Jersey shore to her house in Del Haven, NJ, going to the beach and the Jersey shore thrift shops. Anna was a devoted Mother to her daughter Nancy and she also loved family. She would often make craft type items for them and enjoyed attending many family gatherings and events including those of her extended family, The Winters.

Anna is survived by her daughters; Annmarie (John) Bartholomeo and Nancy Louise Knorr. She is also survived by her brothers William H. "Bill" and John G. Ballinger, and many nieces, nephews and friends.

Relatives and friends are invited to her Viewing Friday, July 10, 2020, 9:00am O’Leary’s Funeral Home, 640 E Springfield Rd, Springfield, PA 19064 and to her Funeral Service 11:00am in the funeral home. Burial Arlington Cemetery, Drexel Hill, PA. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to St. Stephens Episcopal Church, 199 W.
