Alexander Chirico Obituary

Alexander Achielo Chirico, born September 25, 1926 went to heaven peacefully on August 26, 2021 at the age of 94. He was a founding member of the Columbus Club in Clifton Heights PA. Al grew up in South Philadelphia the oldest of seven brothers and sisters. He spent 60 years in Delaware County and a former resident of Maris Grove and Brandywine Living at Longwood. Al will fondly be remembered for his expert gardening of hot peppers and big boy tomatoes, his love of deep-sea fishing, puzzle making, dancing, passion for drinking and making red wine, his hardy appetite, enjoying a good plate of pasta and crabs, and most all, his sweet tooth for chocolate and ice cream. He was a very simple man that enjoyed life’s simple pleasures of good food, and family. Al was a hard worker who left school at the age of 10 to go to work to help feed his family, and for most of working career he was part of the Teamsters union as a truck driver and helper.  Although he could never sit still or stand to see a screw loose, he would frequently tell his children to “Slow down and take the time to smell the roses!”

Al is proceeded by his beloved wife Theresa (D’Alonzo). He survived by his daughter, Laura Kasper and son, Richard Chirico. Proud grandfather of Jessica and Julia Kasper and Jake Chirico. Brother of Yolonda Chirico, Ann Grosstephan, Jean Catrambone and the late Fred, Ed and Carmella Chirico. Also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
