Agnes V. “Jean” (Mullins) McGinley

Agnes "Jean" McGinley, 87, of Springfield, Pennsylvania passed away peacefully on Wednesday, April 5th, 2023.

Jean was the daughter of the late John and Bridget Mullins and was born in Galway, Ireland.  She attended nursing school in the United Kingdom and is a graduate of the Fitzgerald Mercy Hospital Nursing Program located in Darby, Pennsylvania.  She continued to serve as a nurse at Fitzgerald Mercy Hospital for almost 40 years, providing health care to tens of thousands of patients across the Delaware County area.  After retirement, she was continually recognized by former patients who thanked her for the outstanding care she provided to them and their loved ones.

Beloved wife of the late Edward F. McGinley Jr.; Loving Mother to two sons: Edward (Monica) and John (Katy); Cherished Grandmother to Ryan, Lily, Olivia, and Maren who were so good to her in life and were by her side during the last days of hospice care.  Also, survived by her siblings, Suzy, Cathy, Ann, and Jim. Jean was predeceased by her sister Helen, Mary and brother John. She is also survived by many nephews and nieces of the McGinley Clan; as well as several nephews and nieces of the Mullins Clan who reside in the San Diego, California area and in the United Kingdom.  

Relatives and friends are invited to her Funeral Mass on Saturday, the 29th of April at 11:00 at the Holy Family Home located at 5300 Chester Avenue, Philadelphia, PA 19143.  In lieu of flowers, relatives and friends are asked to donate to the Little Sisters of the Poor at the Holy Family Home where Jean was wonderfully cared for by the Little Sisters for the past 10 years, all donations are tax deductible. The link to make a donation to the Holy Family is: https://littlesistersofthepoorphiladelphia.org/in-memory-of/
