Thomas Patrick Payne Jr., 37, of Glenolden, died suddenly on September 13th. Born in Darby, Tommy was a longtime resident of Upper Darby and most recently made his home in the Briarcliffe section of Glenolden.

He attended Saint Bernadette’s in Drexel Hill and was a 2000 graduate of Monsignor Bonner High School in Upper Darby. Tommy was a simple, kind, funny and hard-working man. He was a jack of all trades. He enjoyed watching sports, listening to music, and being outdoors. Tommy loved spending time with his family and making people laugh, especially his Mom and sister. The past three years were some of Tommy’s happiest times, after meeting his beloved Ashley and beginning to build a beautiful life together.  He was looking forward to his upcoming wedding on October 4th.

He was the son of the late Thomas Patrick Payne Sr., and grandson of the late Charles and Mary Jane Payne, and Thomas and Mary Kathryn Bristow.

Survivors: Mother, Joan Payne and sister, Kimberly Payne, both of Glenolden; Fiancé, Ashley Wassell, of Glenolden; Future In-laws, Bill, Adrienne, Shawn and nephew William Wassell of Springfield; many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
