Patrick Monaghan Obituary

Patrick B. Monaghan was born on July 20, 1946 in Philadelphia, PA to John and Margaret Monaghan. He was one of 6 children who adored his family. At the age of 18 he lost his father and took the role of caregiver of the household to the remaining of his siblings who were still living at home and his mother. He was a graduate of West Catholic Boys High School in 1964. At the age of 21 he met the love of his life Catherine B. Fadgen . They married January 24th, 1970. From then the world wind begun. The oldest daughter would make them parents by December 19th of the same year. They would move from an apartment in Media to their first home in Parkside. They went on to have two more beautiful children Jeanne and Patrick, who some might say were Irish twins. With many parties, holidays BBQ's and pool time to be had, they enjoyed it all in their twin home. By 1986 it was time to move to their dream home where they worked hard and continued to raise their kids.

There was nothing Pat would not do for you. He loved being a member of St. Madeline's Parish and was honored to be a Eucharistic Minister. His catholic faith would get him through many ups and downs in his life. He enjoyed his time at the Malvern retreats and created a bond with each member that attended. He was proud of his Irish heritage and his favorite day of the year was St. Paddy's Day. He loved his family and friends and was loved by them as well. He loved being a husband and father but even more so a grandfather. He was "UNCLE PAT" to many and a good man to all. He was the husband, father, grandfather, son, brother, uncle and best friend you wanted to have and he will be forever loved and surely missed. See you on the other side Dad....until we meet again. Patrick is predeceased by his brother John J. Monaghan Jr., sister, Eileen C. Keller and brother-in-law, Don Keller.

Pat is survived by his loving wife Catherine B. (Fadgen), loving children, Carolyn Mary Monaghan, Jeanne Marie (Mike) Kilkenny and Patrick S. (Rebecca) Monaghan and 6 grandchildren, Carly, Owen, Samantha, Kaylee, Patrick Jr. and Liam. He is also survived by his sisters, Ellen M. (John) Parson and  Margaretmary S. Monaghan, brother, Joseph D. (Beth) Monaghan, Sr. and sister-in-law, Elizabeth Monaghan.
