Eileen M. (Cartlidge) Penney

Eileen M. (nee Cartlidge) Penney age 69, of Upper Darby, PA, passed away on June 15, 2019. Born in Philadelphia, PA, she was the daughter of the late Robert and Helen Cartlidge. Beloved wife and best friend of James “Jimmy” Penney, Sr for 44 years. Devoted mother of Christopher, Thomas, Kevin, Lauren and the late James Jr. Dear sister to Patricia “Pat” (Sal) Paolella, Joseph (April) Cartlidge and Robert Cartlidge. Also survived by loving nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Eileen was a graduate of St Agnes Nursing School and as a nurse, devoted her life to helping others. Eileen’s family and friends were the joys of her life and she thrived off their happiness and success. In her life and in her passing, she was an inspiration to us all to never give up no matter what challenges you face. Although she left us too soon and we feel so far apart, Eileen’s unbelievable strength, warm smile, contagious laugh, love of music, and unwavering faith will live on through all of us forever as we strive to live by her example.
